t56

i've got a friend that can make a t56 adaptor plate for the fc 13b and 13bt so u can bolt up the t56 trans. he's been doing trans work forever and does alot of custom projects. he could also make a plate to fit a n/a 5spd trans on a small block chevy for swaps. would any one be interested?

It might not fit. It does fit with an LS1 swap, but the LS1's crank sits lower than the rotary e-shaft, so on the 13B application, the tranny will sit higher in the tunnel, so it likely won't fit.

is an adapter to put a 13b bell housing on a T56 tranny? because i dont thing the bell housing on a T56 will be adaptable to a 13Bspecially that the T56 bell housing doesnt have a starter mounting hole. it would be great if you give some more details on it, i would like to put a 6 speed tranny on my car.

I would be all about this adapter, BUT everyone whos interested needs to make sure theyl like the new gear ratios.

ALSO a t56 is a good bit heavier than our boxes

http://www.5speedtransmissions.com/gear_calculator.html

t56 (some have different ratios)
First 2.97:1, Second 2.07:1, Third 1.43:1, Forth 1.00:1, Fifth 0.80:1, Sixth 0.62:1, Reverse 3.28:1
or
Borg Warner 6sp T-56 Gear Ratios 1st 2.66:1 2nd 1.78:1 3rd 1.30:1 4th 1.00:1 5th 0.74:1 6th 0.50:1

RX-7 Turbo 87-91 3.483 2.015 1.391 1.000 0.719

the t56 is the jam! the gear ratio's are perfect IMHO... but mainly if you have enough power to really make use of it.

hell yah. I've been wanting to install a t56 in my seven since I bought it. Don't worry about the gear ratios and get a lower ring an pinion (4.33 or 4.8ish) that will take up the difference in trans ratios.

i'd be interested. It looks like the 2nd gear is kinda tall though for any roadracing scenario.
