t3/t4 (t04b) ? good for t2 stock ports?

my friend needs money and he has a brand new t04b but its a t3/t4 t3 flange and was wondering if it will be big enough or comparable to stock turbo or little better?

If you're going to take the time to upgrade everything for a larger frame turbo, do it right the first time and get a full To4..

why not, t3/t4 has the advantage of the t3 exhaust side so it should be damn fine, hell thats the most common setup here in puerto rico, they just buy the compressor housing and mount it. a guy that has an 87 did the change and hes damn faster than when he had the T2 stock turbo and it spools damn fine with stock ports.

it depends what you want, if what your looking is like 300-350whp then the hybrid is what you're looking for but if you want 400whp or more then go with full t4 and a standalone lol don't try to reach 350 or 400+ hp with a piggyback because you're going to be thicking the time bomb.

The 13B can spool a full T4 turbine just fine.
The standard is a T4 P-trim.
If you're worried about spool, then step down to under a 1.0 turbine A / R.

Sure, the 13B can spool a T3 turbine, but you're choking it down on the top end.
Why do that when you can run a full T4 turbine, have more power, and have better top end?
This is not a question that the 13B can spool the T3 turbine - it can - it's more a question of why not run something larger that the 13B can push?

your righ bro, i know that is better to go full T4, but almost everytime a person go hybrid is because they start to think that if they change to a full t4 they have to change the manifold, upgrade this and that and they just slam the hybrid and say "forget it ill stay t3 and run 12 psi on stock tmic". this is a matter of how much $$$ the person can afford if you have cash and can afford more things go T4 but if your low in $$$ well then go hybrid because is cheaper and you can get 300whp fairly fine, but i agree with what you say 100%.

Um, I'm a little confused...

We're talking about T3 turbines, but you're mentioning "hybrids"?

Hah yeah, that was on my NA street ported FC. I was downtown at the local car hangout on a saturday night and the crowd surrounded my car and i shot that flame. I had a glass pack on there (didn't know any better then) and it shot the glass out in that flame and sent sparks everywhere.. everyone was like ahhh my chest hurts because the pop was so loud.

Ok, to clear it up a bit, you seem to be babbling about T3's and hybrids.

A HYBRID (read: www.BNRsupercars.com or eqivalent) of the STOCK RX7 turbo will be better than probably ALL T3 or T3/T4's you can find. It's a T4, has a relatively large A/R (1.00) and will not choke (much) on the top end. It will spool nicely, etc.

A T3 or T3/T4 will CHOKE the top end. I don't know if you've noticed or not, but rotaries are ALL ABOUT TOP END! Thats where all the power is made, and you don't want your turbo killing your top end, or your powerband is basically killed.

Simple terms: Hybrid stock turbo, or a full T4 setup.
