If you're installing a T3, I would think twice. The FC already runs a T3 sized turbo, the HT-18. If you are putting a larger turbo on the stock manifold, it should be easy to fabricate a plate to mount it.

Thanx. I am actually installing a larger turbo, direct bolt-on. But I was told that I need an actuator to lower the 25 PSI and also a CONVERTER plate. However, I'm very new to the turbo land. Dont know where I can get the actuator or how to adjust and the plate. I want to learn. Can u help ?

Do you mean a wastegate? If you are installing a larger turbo with an external wastegate, you will need a new manifold and not just a "converter" plate. If you are installing a larger turbo with an intergrated wastegate, then in theory you would make an adapter plate to bolt it to the stock manifold. Without knowing what turbo you are using, this is all the info that I can give.

Yes need more information, if your talking about bolting a true 'T3' bolt pattern turbo you will definatly need an adaptor plate, these are however **** simple to make.

I made mine out of 18mm steel plate, drilled a few holes, did a bit of port matching and there ya go, bobs your uncle you got yourself a perfect adaptor plate.

But if I were you, before you do go do all this, find out what size compressor and exhaust wheels it has, and also the a/r ratios (or though it will probably have been machined out to fit larger wheels so the original a/r ratio is next to useless).

I ran a 'T3' turbo on my 13b, which has a T04 compressor on it and machined out *** end with bigger exhaust wheel... worked beautifully!

maybe the converter plate your talking about is the kind with a built in wastegate. Anyone ever see these?
It a big spacer with a flange on the side. You can bolt up a WG inbetween the turbo and the manifold w/o too much hassle.

This is the turbo on ebay. The seller claims I just need a converter plate and I should lower boost from 25 PSI to about 15-16 PST to play it safe. I will need to install 720cc secondaries + hi-flow fuel pump. Is this a good idea boyz?

No, its not a good idea. For a turbo that size you will need 1600cc secondary injectors plus a standalone engine management system plus a very high flow fuel pump plus a front mount plus ect.... That is a big turbo. I think thats a bit over your head at this point.

okay - many thanks. I guess I will stick with a T3/t4 hybrid. I was told it will increase HP and work with the 720cc injectors etc.

+ a T4 turbo, but once hooked-up it works as a T3 / T4. I can also get Its 30"x18"x2" with 3" inlet and outlet FMIC. Would this be better for my Rx7 - A good starter turbo upgrade?

Good question:

(1) Straight pipe w/no cats
Blitz Turbo Controll Booster
K&N Air Intake
Performance Mufflers

I need to get the 720cc injectors (secondary, keeping the 550cc's + a hi-flow fuel pump and BOV)

--- I am not looking for a "rocket" just something that will assure me that those VTECS will fade in my rear view mirror.

You know if you change your injectors you will need someway to control the extra fuel into the engine...

An aftermarket computer of some sort like a microtech or a haltech, or if you want to go less sophisticated just an Apexi SAFC..

You should be able to "put those VTECs in the rear view mirror" with the stock turbo. You need to get the injectors and S-AFC installed, then you can safely increase boost to about 12 PSI or so. That's pretty much the edge of your stock turbo, but will make decent power.

Really? What is the max HP the stock turbo can produce @ 12 psi? Keep in mind the current mods + bigger seconday injectors and hi-flow fuel pump?
