T2 Wheel Restore...

Hey,

Just curious but I see other Turbo 2 cars that their stock wheels look chrome. Mine are far from that. Is there a way to restore them to that shine?

Well my rims are the ones in my sig.

I believe they are the stock 87 T2 rims.

stock 87 TII rims have the cast surface. that's a lot of work removing it and somewhat dangerous to the rim itself.

my 87 had the machined baloney slicers, i believe 88 had the cast rough finish. the chrome ones you see were probably where people either had them chrome plated or fully polished.

From the FAQ's-The '88's were polished:
88 Turbo 16x7 (simular to 87 except polished and 7 spokes)

well something isn't right in the FAQ then because my '87 T2 had brushed 10 spoke baloney slicers and they were not modified, they had circular machine marks and had a factory clear coat on them, they had the finish of these:

yet had the style of these:

might have a late 87 or someone which wheels because the facotry 88 TII wheels cames polished. the 87s did not.

they must be late model then because the FAQ shows the polished ones as 7 spoke but mine are 10 spoke.
