Yes, but you will also need a TII flywheel, TII clutch slave cylinder, TII clutch, TII starter, TII driveshaft, TII rear end, and TII halfshafts. You could also use a custom driveshaft to attach to your NA rear end.

If you want to keep your stock rearend, you can use the driveshaft out of an automatic car.

i think it is so funny how some people get flamed for this **** and others don't. of the 3 replies, not one person mentioned the search feature...lol. And you wander why people still post this "tii drivetrain in and NA" crap. you really don't have to search. Just look through each page and I guarantee it will be a while b4 you find a page that doesn't have this question already asked - somehave it more than once.

not trying to start anything...

It's not that some people get flamed and others don't, it's that some people do the flaming and others don't. Personally, I rarely flame anybody for not searching, especially if they are new or if their search criteria is not very compatible with our search engine.

And now for the real flaming...

Where in the heck do you people get that nonsense about an AT driveshaft fitting between a TII transmission and NA rear end without modification? Please see page 8-2 in the Propeller Shaft section of the 88 FSM, and tell me how a 36" AT driveshaft will work in place of a 38" MT driveshaft. I'm just dying to hear this explanation.

So is your driveshaft not seated fully in the transmission, are the bolts not tightened, and/or did you relocate the rear end? That 2" went somewhere, LOL. You may want to keep some extra human organs and body parts handy in case "your **** broke ya know". Doesn't this concern you?

no its doesnt concern me cuz when i put it together the yoke went in all the way and then i bolted it up.. fits like a glove.. and i know you are like god b/c your a mod, but correct me if i am wrong.. i know the N/A MT has a short tail shaft and the TII MT and Auto trans have a long tail shaft.. so are you sure the lengths you got were from the T2 shaft??

LOL, mods aren't like gods, they are just computer geeks who manage internet forums, and they don't necessarily have any technical expertise in the forum subjects. If it makes you feel any better, I only moderate the Rotary Performance and ECU sections, so here in the 2Gen section I am just a regular forum member like everybody else.

Those are not my pictures. However, they do seem to correspond with the "L1" measurements in the "Propeller Shaft" chapter of the Mazda Factory Service Manual, which I am going to consider correct until proven otherwise.

Yes, the AT transmission is noticeabley longer. However, the last time I looked at the TII and MT NA transmissions, they appeared about the same length. Also note that the TII and MT NA driveshafts are nearly the same length, so that tells me that the transmissions are also about the same length, assuming that the differential mounting point remains constant.

I am not concerned about anybody showing me that I am wrong in public, but rather I am concerned about people getting hurt because of unsafe modifications. This may be difficult for some to understand, but I would actually feel better if somebody would show me where I am wrong on this subject.
