t2 swap need help?

ok... i have an 86 n/a with a t2 swap going into it, and in the process of doing the swap i have come across some problems.

i took hailers advice and just used the n/a harness on the motor, everything hooks up just fine, once everything was together and wired up and everything done, i went to go and try and fire it up and i get nothing, not spark no fuel, i have been running around this problem for a few weeks now and cant figure it out....

i checked to see if the cas, was getting the proper resistance and it had no problems with the reading it gave me, i dont know where to even begin to diagnose the problem of why she wont start, i can smell the gas when the fuel pump primes the lines when i turn the key and try and turn the engine over, but when i pull the plugs i dont see that the plugs are wet...

if anyone knows where i can start to try and figure this stuff out, please help me out im all ears and open to all kinds of advice..... if theres anything you need to know ask me and ill do my best to answer...

Just a guess, but did you get a jspec motor. On my S5 I read that the fuel rails are backwards. The FPR and the pulsation dampener are on opposite rails so you have to flip the fuel lines around, this could be a reason that you are not getting fuel.

I'm with the above post.

But, also try this if that did not work. Jumper the yellow two pin fuel pump check connector and put the key to ON. The fuel pump should run. IF not, maybe the ENGINE fuse is bad.

Or go to the SMALL plug on the ECU. Pull the plug off and look for batt voltage on the two pins to the far left on the PLUG as you look at the plug from the wire side. Power should be there. If not, then the Main Relay isn't pulling in or the two EGI fuse are bad.

While at the small plug, see if there is power on the four injector wires. The light green, light green/red, light green/black, light green/white. If not, then the Main Relay isn't pulling in or the ENGINE fuse is bad or the two EGI fuse are bad.

And or go to the LEAD coil, and pull off the small, white, two wire plug that feeds it. See if there is power on the black/yellow wire with key ON. Don't mess with the other wire there.

About the fuel lines......you could pull what is normally the return line off the engine. The put the key to ON. Then jumper the yellow fuel pump check connector momentarily to see if fuel flows from the hard line on the engine where you removed the return line. If it flows out that hard line, then I think that proves the plumbing is right to the rails.

My money's also on backwards fuel lines.

With J-spec rails the order is:

Feed line (the one w/ the fuel filter in-line)-> Secondary rail (w/ damper) -> Primary rail (w/ FPR) -> Return line

Pull the Return line off at the engine. Key to ON and make the pump work. IF fuel does not flow out the return hard line on the engine, then you may be getting fuel to the rails, but it's not flowing thru. Swap the pressure and return lines coming to the engine and it'll work right.
