so all I need is ecu... and wiring harness?? cause my none turbo has really low compression and I need to replace the engine.... Found this package and thought it would be cheaper then to rebuild the motor.

Motor, tranny, ECU, Wiring harness, AFM (not sure about that one, n/a might be the same)

You will need to do something about the drivetrain behind the tranny (driveshaft/rear). You can have a custom driveshaft. A lot of people use a driveshaft from an auto, it has the same spline for the output shaft of the turbo tranny, and will bolt to the n/a rear. Another option is to find a full TII rear and TII driveshaft.

the auto driveline is too short, you need about a 1" spacer to make it long enuf

also, that site says 86-92 but you need to find out if it is S4 (86-88) or S5 (89-92) so you know which wiring harness and ecu to get, or if it is more of a performance project then you can get a standalone computer that you custom make your own harness for (or maybe you can buy premade ones?!?), a megasquirt computer is commonly used and i think there website is www.msefi.com .. i think you can figure out a way to bolt the n/a tranny to the turbo engine, i had a friend do that and he was making 275 horsepower and the transmission was fine so unless you push a lot of torque, or put your car under some extreme stress you should use the n/a drivetrain. i think you put your n/a flywheel on the turbo engine or something, but i know turbo has bigger splines so idk. and if the company is good, why the **** would you need to rebuild it? thats kind of like buying an rx-7 and rebuiling the engine before you even drive it? doesn't make too much ******* sense? i guess while it is out, might as well rebuild it, but thats like $500 bucks atleast. if you buy the engine from the right jdm importer than it might have a warranty, or atleast give you compression and leakdown test results. i would be wary though, i have heard some horror stories with some jdm importers ripping people off, maybe try and find it locally that way you can go back and **** some one up in person if they try to rip you off. haha.

You have a 87 non turbo. Use your non turbo harness. Do not mess around and buy a turbo emissions harness.

You'll need a hybrid driveshaft. Buy one from Mazdatrix or get one made at the driveshaft shop.

You NEED a N332 or N333 ECU plus a turbo BOOST sensor and AFM.

If the transmission does not come with its transmission mount, then you'll need to buy a turbo transmission mount. That site indicated the transmission was part and parcel of the package.

This should have been the first thing: Buy a series four FSM with the wiring schematics.

There is no way to know how long that engine has been sitting and what problems it may have, the importer will not tell you. Unless the engine comes with the complete front clip there is no way to really know what kind of mileage the parts have.. They all say low miles but how low mileage can a 15-20 year old engine really have? Ok sure maybe you get a real 20-30k miles engine but maybe it was pulled from the car 10 years ago and has just been sitting in a junk yard for 10 years. Its gonna need a rebuild in that situation. It would really suck to drop it into a car and get everything all setup and then start it up only to find out the engine needs a rebuild ASAP. Immediate rebuild is how you avoid those horror storyies you hear.

sorry to steal the thread but im gonna be buying an s5 TII engine for my n/a as well. my question is what questions should i ask. I have this website that looks pretty trustworthy and they offer the complete swap(engine, tranny, uncutwire harness, and ecu) for 950. it sounds pretty good and they also offer the 20b complete swap for 4700. so far i only had 2 questions for them 1. milage 2. compression, can u guys think of more?

ur gona need to rebuild it anyways trust me. Search on here there is plenty of threads stating what you need. I promis you wont compleat it for 950 add another 900 for other misk parts and so on. + rebuild. Eaither way it is cheeper to sell your car and buy a TII I dunno why evryone thinks they can swap and save a bundle you will allways spend more $ in the end.

My only ? is how did you miss https://www.rx7club.com/showpost.php...74&postcount=6 and https://www.rx7club.com/showpost.php...17&postcount=9
