t2 starting issues

Got a 88 t2.... Won't start! Maf is good, ecu is good, turns over. And over...and over..... Got it to start three times runs with foot on the gas can free rev it but once I let off the gas it dies. Has emissions removed, had my foot floored when it finally started, strong feeling motor when it runs. Confused to hell and back and need to get this running.

sounds like flooding

leaking injectors
bad FPR
low compression

just cause it feels strong when it runs, doesn't mean it is

Care to elaborate? Did you recently work on it, T2 swap it, etc?

Sounds to me as if there's a big intake leak somewhere, but that's a shot in the dark of a list of problems it could be.
