T2 rotor housing question...need help

I am trying to rebuild my 88T2. I have one housing that is slightly scored but possibly reusable. I also have one good 91 T2 housing that I want to use. I was told that I can't use the two together because the spark plug timing was different or something like that. I was also told that I can use the 91 housing in the rear and a 93 housing in the front. Any truth to this?

you would wanna stick with just 91 houseings if you can the fd one is not the same and the 88 is not the same.. a few of the earlyer ones you can interchange but i think with the newer 88+89 models they moved the spark plug holes.. nto sure what years though..

mixing and matching housings is a no-no, unless they're all from the same series/model
ie 86-88 n/a or 89-91 turbo or whatever...

but using one s5 turbo housing and one s6 housing is NOT cool...

Well that is what a reputed rotary garage here in Canada suggested to me.

As far as your concerned, fd and turbo fc rotor housing are exactly the same with the exception of the better chroming on the fd housings. You can use fd rotor housings on any TII engine. Not sure about only one rotor housing though
