T2 engine swap
I have an 88 GXL and I am swapping an 87 T2 engine into my N/A. If I use both the drivers and passengers side wiring harnesses will it work. or do I have to change the cpu and fuse box in the car also.
and the only reason I ask is becuae my N/A passenger side wiring harnes(the one that goes to the ecu)
has the connector that goes to the back of the alternator. But the T2 wiring harness that goes to ecu doesent, the connector is on the wiring harness that runs to the starter and the cpu on the drivers side.
do I have to change my N/A cpu to the T2 cpu.

Yes you have to change the ecuand the wiring harness can be modded to work with the TII,but takes a bit of work unless you disable the the twin scroll. The ecus are programmed differently because air fuel ratios are different because of boost. As for the alternator wire, the turbo2 cars do not have a volt gauge.Instead they have a boost gauge.I think you can deregard that wire or if it's necassary hardwire it in.
