Talking T11 rebuild finished...almost PICS

Well here is what my rebuild looks like. I did it myself, first ever rebuild I have ever done, I might add. Well check it out for yourself, it's not very pretty but it's gonna run like hell, in a good way. Some mods I have done are removed EGR valve, fast idle, cold start, BAC, and ACV. Here it is.

How hard was the rebuild for you? How long did it take? And did you run into any problems?

Besides all of my annoying questions, nice job
And you're right about it not looking pretty, but who cares if it's all good on the inside.

Even though I removed the BAC valve it will still idle fine after it's warm but when it's cold you have to start it up kinda like a carburated engine, have to hold at about 1500 for a couple a minutes then it idles normal. My friend Kevin Landers at Rotary Resurrection has it done to his car and it works fine. ACV is the air control valve which is not really need if you don't have to pass emissions once a year.

This is my very first rebuild ever, but might as well start with the best. When I bought the car the engine ran, but had a violent 3600 hesitation that would throw you into the steering wheel. I don't know if rebuilding the engine and the mods I have done will cure this problem, but I am confident that it will. I also did alot of cleaning of the engine bay, it was so nasty when I got it, oil all over the bottom half of the engine, and so bad you could barely even see the steering rack. It's clean now though with the help of some super clean, aircraft cleaner, and my friend's handy dandy pressure washer. Should be a fast little car once I get the other mods I want like exhaust, S5 turbo, and some other boost mods.

You may not understand the function of the BAC. The valve bumps up the idle so it dosn't stall at a traffic light with the AC on. And it bumps up the idle if your at idle moving steering wheel. Now if you don't have AC or power steering it dosn't matter.

Good job on the rebuild! Have fun.

Can anyone post a picture of the BAC? I purchased my car with minimal stuff on it... All emissions were removed, so when I look at a stock seven engine bay, I get confused easily "What's that thing? hehehe"
Thanks

My t2 has no BAC, or anything else for that matter. IN fact, no TPS either...just 4 injectors, airflow meter, and the intake air temp sensor. After 2 minutes it idles *rock steady* at 750...turning the steering wheel violently while stabbing the brake pedal with the a/c on will only alter the idle by 50-100rpm, never even considering dying, then it immediately returns to the rock solid 750.

There are very little drioveability problems with this...upon deceleration in gear you get a light bucking sensation, only a slight annoyance, and you also get popping/etc. IT has never once dies after the first 3 minuts of running since I took all the crap off. You can now look under the intake and see the block, and you can pull the upper intake in all of about 5 minutes.

My car likes it without it...before it would t rev past 5krom at all, and it had an odd on/off sensation at part throttle that most t2's have. I unplugged it and it immediately gained some low rpm driveability(on/off sensation gone, smooth transition on/off throttle) plus it would redline smoothly. The high end resistance values were screwed up. I tried 2 more, and they only made it worse, so I said screw this thing.

hmmm if you think about it. if half your tps is dead the car will still run i guess if you don't have any tps might run better than a half broken one

Notice the cover plates for the BAC valve and the ACV, and also the one for the EGR valve. I made those myself.
