T04B & Mods....

Looking at getting a T04B with a .60A/R cold side,1.15 A/R Turbine and divided flange.

These are the mods I already have:

Walbro 255
Greddy 720 sec.
Ported Wastgate
Apexi AVC-R (Going for around 10-12 psi)
New fuel filter
3" Turbo back Motoria Exhaust
Rtek 1.7 ECU
Removed Split Air Valve , ACV and Sub Zero Assist

Mods Coming:

Wideband
Apex'i Neo
FMIC

The engine is still on stock ports as well. It's an 87 T2 S4

Also if possible could I just do pipes to fit on the top mount intercooler? I know it isn't recommended.

I would go standalone but just alittle high at the moment.

Don't plan on running extremely high boost levels. I am thinking right now between 12 to 14 if possible.

Looking at getting some 1600 cc injectors but would those be overkill?

Sounds like a "V" trim T04B, a good "bang for the buck" turbo.I don't think trying to run 1600cc secondaries with a RTech1.7/SAFC combo would work real well.Staging them would be a bitch and decreasing the injector duty cycle with the SAFC increases the ignition timing because you are modifying the AFM signal.you might get it to work decently/safely with a 720/720cc or 720/850cc injector combo with something in the 10 psi boost range with that turbo.

That 1.15 hotside may be a bit too large for stock ports. It sound to me like your goals would be best accomplished with a standalone. Don't waste your money with an apexi neo. You could sell the rtek and use the money from that and what you would have spent on the neo to buy a standalone. IIRC the TMIC is not very efficient over 12psi.

Well, I think now I am going to go with the Rtek 2.0 vs the 1.7 and the Apexi Neo.

I just dont have the extra $1k to $1300 for a standalone.

Yeah, I wanted to get that plug and play mega that was in the group buy section but just missed it unfortunatly.

I PM'ed him and he said it might be a month or longer until the next batch. My car is down and I need it going so unsure if I can wait that long.

I still need a wideband either way but I noticed for the rtek 2.0 it has to be linear and the AEM Uego and LM-1 setups are both analog.

do not use the rtek7 ecu with a full turbo upgrade. you could get away with it with a hybrid turbo.

i had this exact same turbo you speak of on my streetported s5 TII. the 1.15 a/r ptrim turbine housing is going to be wayyyyyy too laggy on stock ports with 8.5:1 rotors.
i changed housings down to a .81 ptrim and it spools great. at 13psi i made 330whp with that turbo and the 1.15 a/r turbine housing and 360whp/305tq at 15psi with more tuning.. you are going to have to get a standalone.

and BTW you didnt mention which manifold or wastegate you plan on running

Yeah,

Honestly I haven't 100% got all the parts in line for the full upgrade. Mainly just wanting to see if the engine and mods would support what I have so far as those parts are already bought except for the fuel control and widband.

If the engine won't handle it then I will probably stick with the ported wastgate S4 turbo and just up the boost on it with the AVC-R.

I see what I can find on him.

But if I was to run the Rtek 2.0 which Wideband is good to use with that? The AEM and LM-1 both say they are analog while the Rtek site says must be Linear.

I have asked in the Rtek section but not much traffic there.

Thanks,
Mike

Linear means straight Line as for as a graph is concerned. You want a WB that has a linear programmable analog output. The two you listed are exactly that. The Zeitronic WB is not a linear output and also doesn't have a programmable output as far as I can tell.
