I'm trying to figure out if there is any way to fix this problem. it doesnt smoke black, but if you stand behind it while running it is almost like getting sprayed with pepper spray.

The smell at idle is not an indication of how rich it runs while driving. Rotaries prefer a rich idle, and if you've removed the cat and emission controls there will be a noticeable smell at idle.

Have you accurately measured fuel consumption to see if it's excessive?

it is going thru fuel very fast 1/4 of a tank on about 15 miles of test driving. the thing that worries me the most is that it's flooding very easily. the person i bought it from told me it happens because its running too rich and he said thats why it floods so easy. Ive had other 7's before but never a turbo one thats why I'm more worried about it i dont want to be running it to lean and break an apex seal because of dryness or so rich that it floods almost every time i turn it off. I'm in the process of buying a air/fuel gage and putting it on the car to see how off it is if it is off. please let me know if there's anything else you can advise me to do.

thanks

That person has no idea what he is talking about.

Make sure thats a WIDEBAND O2 sensor you are getting, otherwise you are wasting your money. Narrow band O2 sensors are only accurate right around stoich.
