Sounds like extra weight to me, I prefer a decent head unit and a couple of replacement size speakers for a decent sound. You can't replicate good acoustics/soundstage in a car, lots of background noise; so why go to all the expense and weight of a mega-system? All it does is attract unwanted attention from the police and theives.

First suggestion...

I know it's VERY hard to do, but save the money for some QUALITY components.&nbsp Ignore anything that says PYRAMID on it.&nbsp Avoid any amp that claims over 500 watts unless it's over 24" long.&nbsp Buy quality equipment, even though it means going with lesser power.

Even before that, get an alarm installed.

Your right, my bad. I have other **** around too. couple of ADS power plates P-40 and P-120?

I just sold my Soundstream TC-308 Cassette Deck.

I used to run a Parasound receiver for home, Kyocera CD changer and a Stax PRO-Lambda headphones, hardwired with LSI interconnects.
Hardcore stuff, my hearing is so shot from Submarine Service that I can't hear the difference of the equipment these days

I've got pretty much the largest speakers in each hole that this car could take. If you want some nice and hidden bass, just fiberglass over the large hole in each rear tower and putty up the small holes and throw in some 8's. You can hide the amp in the spare tire well and people will have no clue where that beautiful sound is coming from. Just be prepared to get slightly messy and possibly have to cut metal to be able to increase the volume from the .2 cubic feet available.

I'm putting my tweeters into those triangle windshield vent thingies since they blow the equivilant of mouse sneezing anyway. The sound reflects off the windshield to the passengers and gives it a nice soundstage.

Also, if you add anything larger than an 8" in a box, be sure to aim it towards the back for the maximum db's.

I currently have 1 12" sub in a bandpass box installed in the car... At the end of september when I have two weeks vacation, it's getting switched to 4 10" Volfenhag aluminum cone subs and two tsunami mono-blocks. It should be kinda loud.

In my 88 vert I have

Alpine 7894 Head unit
Infinity Reference 605cs 6.5” component speakers
Alpine Type R 10” sub in custom box
Kicker 300.4 Amplifier

I must say it sounds pretty good even with the top down and when I crank it there sounds like there is a concert going on in my car.
