4,000 rpms weird noises.......

Ok I've read the most asked questions about oil and all that stuff... but hey when I put royal purple 5w30 in it makes noise at 4,000 rpms like its not protected enough, soooo my question is now, if I buy regular oil, what type of oil do I use? Or should i just buy synthetic of any of the recommended oils, in a heavier weight...

5W30 would be the wrong weight for any oil unless you are starting and driving in tempatures under 0F.

And this is covered by the FAQ for FC sticky thread found at the top of this the 2nd gen RX-7 technical section.
