Switching Actuator
what does this do? Can i remove it? what needs to be done to remove it? and from what i see all T2s did not have this?? any help? thanks in advance

It's part of the twin-scroll turbo control system fitted to S4's. There's a flap in the exhaust manifold the blocks off one of the turbo exhaust housing's scrolls below 2700rpm. The higher velocity exhaust gas spools the turbo up much faster. Above 2700 the flap opens and both scroll receive exhaust flow.
The car will run better with it all working properly. If you disable it and wire it open as some have done there won't be any improvement in flow, only more turbo lag.
S5's didn't have this. Instead they use electronic boost control to reduce turbo lag.

cool, thanks all i needed to know is if i can run it like this, i upgraded my turbo an i used another T2 exahust manifold which dosent have the holes to mount the acutator on it but the manifold is from an S4 which is why i was confused? just so it wonr hurt anything i just need it on the road for alittle before i do a maifold and everything, thanks again
