hey everyone, i was just wondering how much trouble it would take to swap a manual tranny with my auto? if anyone has done this, i have a 87 gxl, and advice would be greatly appriciated!

Pedal cluster
Probably have to jump some wires (or change the harness), and change the ECU, I don't know if the ECU's are different in these cars between auto and manual trans.

And the front counterweight unless you go with an aftermarket light flywheel.
I think maybe the starter as well? And all the clutch components.
Either way there is an archived write up that covers this in great detail.

propeller shaft
mounting bracket
trans mounts
alignment tool
32mm socket
puller
1.5" hole saw
eletrical tape
gear oil
shift boot

off the top of my head thats it, you will need a drill as well, you dont need the ecu to complete the swap but you will throw an ses light with out the proper ecu( or stand alone) due to the auto not being hooked up. if you buyeverything first, it should take you about 15-18 hours to complete if your not a moron.
