Thumbs up switch over to syn. oil???????

i have an 88 TII and want to start using royal purple syn. i would feel safer since i have put an intake, full exhaust, fcd, safc, fuel pump good for 500 hp, jacobs ign. box. what the hell racing beat swears by it so it must be good stuff. its that i have the stock motor and dont plan on rebuilding anytime soon (106,000 miles). she is boostin really good and i get worried as i didnt upgrade the oil regulator so i figure if i run syn. oil it would be added protection when im hitting 12psi and up. is the switch over easy as just adding royal purple my next oil change or is there someting i need to do 1st.

any advice would be great.....
thanks guys!!!!

I'm using MObil 1 with my oil metering pump removed. I change it every 3000 miles.

I'm using Castrol GTX 10w-30 and I change my oil every 4800-5000 kms
I'm pretty sure you could just use purple royal for your next oil change.

I would stick to the normal 3 months/3000 miles routine. You don't need to do anything special before you switch to synthetic.

Thumbs up thanks guyus!!!!!

just want to thank you guys for the info, i really appreciate it!!!!

i just put some 9's in my leading spots last night. also put some 2 cycle premix in the tank. i feel alot better now when i put the petal to the metal. next up is royal purple and disabling the metering pump. i have 106,000 miles on a stock motor. im curious to see how long she's gonna last with the stuff im doing. maybe 160,000. it would give me alot of time to safe for some better mods.

once again thanks guys....

I used Mobil one for a while too. I love the stuff. The only thing is that I heard that synthetic oil doesn't combust right, and the Rx7 is oil injected. Some people say its better for the car, others say to stay away from it.

Question synthetic should last longer than dino juice....

you could wait like an extra 1000 miles maybe. it is synthetic oil and lasts alot longer. when i switch to royal purple im gonna do my oil changes every 4,000 thousand miles. i think that'll work.

just gotta get some bolts to replace those banjo ones on the metering pump. anyone do this already?
