swapping transmission

could be a dumb question but im planning to swap my transmission. do you need a lift for that kind of job or can you just use a floor jack and jack stands. is there going to be enough clearance to pull the transmission? thanks for the help

14 to 16 inches is about all you need. All but the lamest jack and jack stands should do that.

A trans jack is not required if you can bench a transmission. Or find a friend.

you can even do it with ramps....anyway choose anyway you want. its straight foward..pull out the shifter from inside cabin take off all heatshiels and exhaust disconnect from driveshaft and engine from the bolts..take off driveshaft push back on sleeve then unbolt cross brace on tranny pull back slow then drop down. fairly light and best bet you should replace main seal possible rear tranny seal also. i basically told you step by step...haynes manuals are great and cheap also..every 7 owner should have one
