swapped injectors...idle at 2000

do you think my UIM is leaking? i took it off and the gasket stuck to the LIM so i just left it there and put RTV on top of it...thing was part of the gasket chipped off so i just put extra RTV there, and just hoped it wouldnt leak...uhhh do you think it leaked? is there something else i should look at?

dude, I'd at least order a cheap manifold gasket set from autozone for like $20, scrape off that RTV crap and do it the right way, especially if you got a turbo. ~rich

RTV is your best friend if you know how to use it..

weeeeeell, I don't know. It doesn't seem to me that a manifold vacuum leak will cause a rx7 to idle high or at least THAT high. I'm not sure how much effect a lean O2 sensor signal will have at idle. ~rich

ok well i let it idle and took a look under the hood...first thing i looked at was where the small piece of gasket fell off when i took the UIM off...i put my finger over the spot and the idle went down...so i covered it completely and its seems like its idling right...im gonna order the gasket in a few days but for now i tried to get some RTV in there to make it idle a bit better...would that leak also cause hesitation? it seems like it hesitates a bit when i floor it...sometimes a lot...sometimes just for a second...

thanks,
Matt

I just put my intake manifold back on today. There is no tightening sequence on the bolts but they are torqued to 15-20 ftlbs.

I tightened the bolts starting with the center bolt and working my way outward. You make 3 passes tightening the bolts in 6ftlb increments until you get to 18.

are you sure it's not turbo lag? when does it hesistate most, when the engine is hot or when it's cold? have you changed your timing any? ~rich
