Question swaping NA with TII regrets???

I was wondering about a few things and wanted to know how others feel about the whole swaping engines thing

as the process begins to start of me swapping my NA with a turbo, I wanted to know how many people have done this (i know theres many) and would have rather just bought a turbo version?
why or why not?

is there anyone on here who regrets buying the base model or the GXL and swaped engines instead of just buying a TII?

just out of curiosity...

My advice: If you spent some coin and time fixing everything else and the engine is last on your list, then go the swap. Otherwise, buy something that won't require major modifications. I'd spent a reasonable amount fixing other parts (struts, power steering, radiator etc - it all added up). However with the new turbo S4 block, turbo and ECU (Wolf 3D), I could have fixed my NA engine and purchased a S4 TII
Best advice: by a house

I bought a totaled turbo 2 for 300 dollars and swapped everything into my base model. I get the power of the turbo motor and the lightness of a base model!

I dont see the point of doing a swap on a non vert N/A, unless the car is super clean or it has some kind of sentimental value.

I'm attached to my FC at it was my first car tha I liked. There isn't alot of TII's around here, so I made my own.

Plus, I got to go through alot in the drivetrain and car, replacing alot of the wear parts and so on.

So I'm happy with doing my conversion.

it was more of the hands-on thing.it would have cost the same amount to buy a T2 but i did the n/a to T2 swap.36 straight hours of working on it (including putting the shortblocked motor together and redoing the wiring harness) after work all through the night.i would do it again.by the way,the car i have is a 90 gx (base model S5) and got a S5 T2 motor.

I have been planning on swapping a tii engine into my GTU for a while. I want to get to know my car better, im attached to it and dont feel like selling it just to buy another one. The money i invested in it already makes it not worth selling.

it is a fun project that you can really make your own.
also you can make a pretty nice sleeper and cheaper insurance.
it takes no skill buying a turboed car, build it don't buy it!!

My only regret? Not taking my time. I'm finding all my errors little by little and I wish I hadn't rushed it.
