Suspension setup for track use

I'm trying to pick out a decent setup for track use and I need some input/feedback. I'm trying to figure out which sway bars to pick, between the 28.6mm RB front bar or the Tanabe 27.5mm front bar, and the 15.xmm RB rear bar and Tanabe 18mm rear bar, and using RB adjustable end links. I plan on using relatively stiff spring rates (input on this would be helpful), and I'm not sure which coilovers to go with either. I will be installing a Cusco 6pt roll cage and adding to it (door bars at the least), as well as Cusco front and rear strut tower bars. I'm also thinking of installing a Cusco lower frame brace (am I getting too stiff of a car here?), since I threw the idea of stitch-welding the chassis out the window (for now). Also considering adjustable rear lateral links (have no idea what the adjustability serves for). Annnd I have polyurethane bushings to top it off. Basically I'm shooting in the dark here; I have little knowledge of suspension geometry, especially not pertaining to FC's, and I need a lotta help from people who do know. If there's anyone on here who's tracked their FC around Lime Rock or NHIS that would be especially helpful since that's where I'll be going, and if you know a good place to get the suspension corner balanced in the area that would rock too!

If you were to go with cusco coilovers, depending on which series you go with, you might find a desirable spring rate. springrates like 8kg and 10kg are too extreme for driving off the track, but i got the impression that this is purely a track car, you might want the stiffest ones you can find, and cusco makes soft coilovers for the FC.

I'll be driving it to the track most likely (my parents don't support my enthusiasm for motorsports so I don't think I'll be able to borrow my dad's truck and can't really afford a trailer) but that will probably pretty much encompass all the street driving it will see.

8k being too stiff for the street is only if you drive on some bumpy *** roads. I have springs that are 450lb in the front and 350 in the rear. which is stiffer than an 8k 6k setup by a little bit. It isn't bad at all. And my car handles pretty damn good. I also daily drive it

If you're REALLY serious about making this a track car than /thread and call Flatout Motorsports (http://www.flatout-motorsports.com/) and talk to Nick. They're right in MA and more than likely on your to Limerock. He'll set you up with a true track suspension consisting of AWR strut tubes, re-valved Koni's, the correct spring rates, camber plates, etc etc etc etc & he can install everything, set you up with a base alignement & cornerweight the whole she-bang. It's going to cost you well over $2000 though but you'll have decades of actual race experience setting your suspension up as opposed to a bunch of 16yo highschoolers with little to no experience on an internet forum who all think that their parts are the greatest. If $2,000 + is too much to swing, start searching for C/O's on the forum to get a bunch of names and start calling companies. Go with who you feel most comfortable with not other peoples subjective opinions. There have been 1/2 dozen threads on this subject in the last 2 days alone and most of them turn into drifting vs track flamewars.

EDIT - be very wary of who you take your advice from. There are a few really knowledgable people here but most of them don't know squat. If you look in the members profile you can find other threads that they've posted in. It gives you an insight into what they know/don't know. I can PM you a few names to listen too though. All of which have significant track experience, much more than me.

what's a track?

SCCA ITS racers are probably your best bet to talk to.

Oh yeah, I remember seeing their ads in issues of Sports Car. I'll definitely give them a call...just gotta scrounge up a few grand first. Yeah, that should basically answer my questions right there.
