Suspension question.

I have an 89 GXL N/A. It has the little button for "Auto Adjusting Suspension" with the "sport" and "normal" modes. Whats a good way to tell if it still works? Should I hear the servos and feel the car do something?

Chances are the effect has gone downhill in the last 16 years, try doing some quick turns (in an empty lot hopefully) in different moods and see if you can tell a difference. My 87's suspension was so shot it didn't do anything.

I had this feature on my GXL before I did a complete TII conversion. I never noticed a difference under both modes. Than again, my suspension was 12yrs old at the time. I had asked a former rotary mechanic (with over 25yrs working on RX's) the same question and he claims that It never really worked anyway brand new when It came out of the factory, let alone today.

When/If you choose to swap out your Automatic Ajustable Suspension with aftermarket ones besure to disconnect the AAS control unit found In the Hatch, behind the license plate.
