Suspect blown coolant seal
Hello all,
I suspect a disturbance in the force. . . .. I was letting the car warm up, admiring the quiet and perfect idle, and then I noticed water leaking from the front of the car.
I opened up the hood, and discovered the overfill coolant tank was filled to the brim and overflowing.
The last two times I started the car I noticed it was very rough for the first 20 seconds almost as if I was running on 1 rotor. I didn't think anything of it because it smoothed out and I was able to drive it for a mile or two before I parked it.. The temp gauge was not overheating when I discovered the problem.
But now I think I blew a coolant channel and it is leaking into 1 of the rotor housings. I got the car to start this morning but it was really rough and won't idle. When it finally died on me, it won't start at all now. I am going to pull the plugs to see if I can ascertain anything from the inspection. I guess I'll need to do a compression test which I do not have the equipment for. So I guess I am asking a couple questions from the group here.
What's an inexpensive way to check compression?. .. ..And two what's my next course of action?.
If it is a blown coolant seal my gut instinct tells me I shouldn't let it sit in that condition and I should drain the water to keep the rotor housing from from sitting with water in it.
Any comments would be helpful. . ..Thanks in advance.

i'd suggest a cooling system pressure test, if you're lucky its some other leak

I just started it up.. . .Hard to do, but it did it. . . .. . After about 4 mins, at idle, water in a small stream is coming out of the overfill tank.. . . .I bet 10 minutes and it would cause the low tank alarm.
I shut it off.. . . .Nice to know it will start though I can move it around a little.
I'll drain it this weekend and store it.. . ...Crap.
