I have looked but must have missed it. I have a 88 GXL N/A w/ 102,000 miles on it and am having a problem with surging after about 4k rpm. In addition, the the low end power is very weak but after 4k rpm it picks up strongly but surges. It does not smoke at cold startup or smoke while driving. I have cleaned the injectors changed the fuel filter, new air filter, plugs and have no fuel leaks or oil leaks. I am at a loss.

 

Does anyone have some advice on this?

 

yes i'd like to know what this is too...this happened to me after i put an aftermarket filter in...though it's not THAT slow at 4k rpm but noticable from 1-4k rpm then 4-7

 

Check and adjust your tps, check and clean all grounds and the secondary injector grounds too.Check also your fuel pumpand its ground and measure how much voltage is present at the pump.That should atleast point you to the right direction.Good luck and pm me to see how it comes out.Good luck

 

Also for you no power down low situation.Make sure that the previous owner did not wire the 5th and 6th ports open.
