Surging; Constant RPM; Idle is OK
Thanks for your input.
My 1987 is surging slightly with steady and constant revs at 2000-3000RPM. Idle's fine with some occasional lumpiness.
New plugs, cables, etc. Did not fix problem.
What do you think? Vacumm, seal, etc. leaks? O2?
TPS? (usually idle related, right?)
Thanks again

Thanks for the reply.
Okay at idle, okay on acceleration.
Maintaining a constant and steady RPM, with or without load, it surges, lugs, chugs. Drop down gear, and it's okay, until holding a steady RPM.
Chug, chug. Lug, lug.

mine does the same thing: when you are cruising at a steady speed it will be ok and then stumble and then be ok, and repeat? i think its related to the 02 sensor, i had an air fuel ratio gauge and when it went into closed loop it would do it. its either the o2, the o2 wire, or an exhaust leak?

That sounds exactly like the throttle positioning sensor (TPS):
-try giving it a little shot of fluid film
-replace it
next time it does it, pop your hood and manually push it in once or twice, and see if it frees it up then hit the sticky thing with fluid film (not wd40 it will dry it out and increase the problem)
