Exclamation super high idle

I was driving the other day and some jack-Knife hit me in my rear bumper. I wasn't too mad, especially since it wasn't my fault. The catch was that it didn't look too bad and I was going to get a lot of money if I just fixed it myself. The only things wrong were the tail pipe, the rear bumper, and the annoyingly high idle that it had. If I could just fix the Idle I could still fix everything else easily. So... Off into the manual I went. I thought it could be the TPS but it was almost too high to be that I mean maybe 1500 to 2500 could've been the TPS, but my baby was steady at 3500 and pushing 4000. I knew I couldn't just drive it like this with the gas prices up and everything, so again I started looking through the manual. Idle control system, fast idle screw, my S5 had none of these. I didn't have an intercooler since I had no turbo, so it couldn't have been a leak in that system. I went inside a lot because it was hot, and I couldn't think. Finally I put it back together and started it again. Now it wasn't starting at all!!! I decided it wasn't starting because I disconected the TPS and I had to reset the system. So I just pulled the positive cable on battery, put it back on, and she fired right up, but she still had the gas devouring high idle. I scoured the system looking for something I could just miss, and finally there it was. The only OTHER thing hooked to the throttle body except the throttle cable that was mechanically operating it. MY CRUISE CONTROL UNIT. The cruise control's cable had pushed itself free from one of it's harness' and was pulling the throttle just a tad too much. I just pushed it back in and she was as good as new. Hope my misfortune can help others. It took me about 4 hours to find it but it was all worth it. Good luck everyone, and don't just give up.
