Question sunroof repair?

i've been reading through all these posts for like...4 hours...it gives me a warm fuzzy feeling knowing that i'm not the only one having these problems...btw, thanks for letting me know how to fix my wiper switch and my rev problem...

does anyone know an easy fix to repair my sunroof? motor seems fine...roof just gets stuck in its tracks and requires a good shove to keep it moving...

or should i just rip out the motor and weld the bastard shut?

fun repairs to date: passenger window regulator died in the down position, replaced it with a manual...hella cheaper...thermostat stuck closed....parts in the mail...waterlevel sensor dead...parts in the mail...all three cat's clogged up...can you say hammer? dont tell the dmv...an di think someone before me ran my poor gxl up a curb...it ha da huge dent in the oilpan and the whole exhaust system was dented up to the point of being closed off...

odd that i seem to have such a bond to this car that has such a bond to my wallet...oh well, at least i can drift...

Do You have slack in Your drive unit? When You pull roof towards car front does it move about an inch? This may be a sign of a worn flex shafts in the drive unit ($185 at dealer). I am about to replace mine.

The sun roof tracks should be greased every year or so:
Roof forward but open, spray tracks & flex gear tapes, open, wipe off excess.

Spray grease is also handy for door hinges & latches, hood hinges & latches, hatch hinges & latches, window mechanisms, remote gas door & hatch release cables, etc..
