Probably some early design change.

They were no longer needed, but it was cheaper to leave them in than take them out.

The closer you look, the more of that stuff you find in all cars.

It's there so you can align your sunroof inside cover. The middle one has a indent wher you align it up at and then they pop in.

Oops- my bad - I forgot about the rear edge of the liner.

(It's been too long since I pulled one)

I'll shut up now.

...so nothing too important that it couldn't stand to be made of a different material... such as fiberglass?

I'd love to find/make one in .25" tinted lexan.
The hard part is the domed shape.

I wonder if there is a fabricator out there that could make a profit listing them at $99?

im thinking of making a non-opening replacement with maybe reversed vents (ones that point tword rear of car) As you mught know, a lot of roll cages wont fit in fc's with sun roofs and the low roof liner is a major bummer if you wear a helmet.

You really can't make a lexan one that operates w/o a bit of work...

as per you bingoboy... you COULD make one out of fiberglass... but why not just make the bracing out of fiberglass, and the skin out of CF? Don't be fooled, my CF ideas are still rolling, I might just have to do it all myself no problem there, more profit for me
