Sunroof is luxury man. Great for a sunny day cruise. If you don't like sunroof's there's something wrong with you.

I like sunroofs, but not on the RX7. FC GT-R owns all.

I hate the "Extra weight" and all, but my parents have always bought the "economy" versions of cars with no sunroof, so to me it's a "luxury" thing, and I would rather have one, as long as it works and the rest of the car is up to par.

If I had to choose between a ok version of an FC I got with a sunroof, or choose nother better car, but withought a sunroof, I'd go for the better car OVERALL.

Same thing with N/A vs TII= I would get the car in better overall condition, and one that has been taken care of well.

Sunroofs are great. Put on the sun-glasses on a nice sunny day. Cruising down the boardwalk. Sun-roof open, windows down, wind going everywhere. It's a nice feeling. I like small cars with small cabins; however, I like the open space equally as much at times. I say it's equally worth the weight. Shed a few pounds by not eating that hamburger and get a salad racing seat instead...

I have a love/hate relationship with my sunroof. I love it for just driving around on those hot summer days (no AC) and it's nice to just crack it open to get a little quiet airflow when its not hot. But it adds weight and takes away from my headroom, which is especially important when I've got a helmet on for track days and autocross. It forces me to have to recline a lot more than I would have to otherwise. Seeing as how my car's going to be more and more a weekend and track car, I think I might be removing it in the next few years.

I love my sunroof. I think it's just damn sexy. That, and the feeling of a warm summer day, with the sunroof open...I just can't explain how good of a feeling that is.

neither of our 2 cars has a sunroof and we miss it on HOT summer days. If YOu can get a car without a sunroof and you're in a HOT part of th country then I hope you have AC.

Yeah, I have all the same comments, plus a few. When I first got my '7 (summer of '07, haha, just realized the irony...) I had never driven and been in very few cars with a sunroof. I never gave them a second thought because I never 'needed' one, and I tend to use my cars for very practical purposes plus going fast (as fast as I could manage anyway). A sunroof never fit into either of those categories, but when I got my '7 I found that the sunroof is really quite nice. It's totally a comfort and 'experience the ride' sort of thing. But again, I have all the same issues with it that he ^^^ does.

I thought of something else. It's really nice to be able to leave it cracked open in the summer to enable some of the heat to escape while having the car still be quite secure. I do that all the time, as leaving a black on black car out in the sun can lead to some scorching interior temps.

So would the car without the sunroof out perform the car with the sunroof through turns? Same specs aside from sunroof.

Well if EVERYTHING was the same, as in same weight, CG, etc, then no. But if it's same everything but what eliminating the sunroof changes then yes, by a small margin. Fact is that it's weight at the highest point in the car, where it hurts the CG the most, and it's not exactly light. Don't expect that taking out your sunroof will make the car noticably faster, but every bit counts, it all adds up, and on a racecar it'll definetely be worth it.

Only reason I say no is because I never use it, and the fact that it is the first part that started to rust on the car(don't know why).

Love it on both my cars. Then again one of them has one hell of a sunroof.

yeah, this is deffinatley not a "simple question"
the plus side is that its nice, and enjoyable
the down side, is i dont fit in my car that well with a helmet on, and the weight factor.
DD, yes
Track car, no.
