Main Fuse?
I'm pretty sure I blew the main fuse. But I just want to be sure before I order a new one tomorrow. Car died while driving 3 times, took some key cycling the first 2 times, and the last time, nothing.
Headlights work, dome light, door lights, hazard, horn works, turn the key and nothing happens, no idiot cluster, no radio, no windows, no starter engagement, just dead. I figured main fuse, because I blew one a few years ago in my old FC, but I can't remember if anything worked at all.
A while ago I had put a jumper in one of the heater test connectors, to get my heater to work, and I found out that it melted, just worried I fried the ECU with that stupid stunt.

A continuity test on the main fuse will tell you if it's good or not. Also. the solid Black wire as part of the front harness which is found at the ignition switch would have constant voltage if the fuse was still good (Black wire is part of a two wire plug which also contains a Black/White wire). And the wire which comes from the main fuse drops downward below the fuse box by about a foot or so and mates w/a like colored wire. If the connection between these two wires was separated or poor it would produce the same conditions. And a faulty ignition switch would behave much in the same way to.

Thanks. Unfortunately I didn't have a multimeter with me, and it was raining at the time, and my windows were down. I just plastic bagged it, and I'll look at it tomorrow, just won't have much time to get down there, trouble shoot, and grab a fuse from Mazda after work.

Issue is resolved. Main fuse was fine, turns out one of the larger 8 gauge black wires leading from the fuse box melted its connector, not sure why the fuse didn't blow first, but I replaced it anyway. Crimp spliced and heat shrunk the wire and car runs great again. Thanks for the help, last time I ghetto rig something with a jumper wire.
