The motor is underneath the headliner at the rear of the sunroof. If you look at the headliner there is a small circle 1.5" diameter roughly. You can pop that out and use an allen key to manually operate the sunroof...if the motor is dead or the tracks are gummed up.
This will not work if there is an actual mechanical failure in the sunroof mechanism (such as the cable snapping on one side or the other, which is unfortunately rather common).
