91 rx7 n/a large street port TPS keeps messing up

OR 91 rx7 n/a large street port TPS keeps messing up

HI all IM new to the forms i have just bought a 91 Rx7 with a large street port, it also has racing beat header,pulleys and 2.5in exhaust(single) Ps,ac and all emissions have been removed from the car.5-6 ports allways open also running pre mix. my question in the guy i got the car from said i have to adjust the TPS every few weeks because of the port job it seems to run like a champ for about 2-3 weeks then i have to reset the TPS is there something i need to do to fix this prob for good it also has a bran new TPS it idles at around 1200rpms is this right any help would be appreciated thanks

Without really knowing who did the port job, it's anyones guess what went on in that engine. A street port in general should idle fine at 750rpm, there should be NO NEED to readjust the TPS once its set, especially a brand new unit, unless it has been years....

By the way, you can't properly adjust the TPS without first having the engine idle at around 750rpm. That may be where to start the diagnostic at.

im at a lossit runs great for weeks at a time then ill go to take off and get on it and it will want to pop sputter the shop hear said its because the 5-6 ports are wired open also the check engine light is on but it shuts it self off after 2k-2500rpms i was told this is to all the emission being removed?

Pull the codes and find out.

when they were pulled it was from removed egr and cat thats all auto zone said. was told its all the emissions removed thats turning the light on ill work on it tomorrow iv been all over google and to many sights just reading all i can this is my second rx i have owned first being a 89gtu

I highly doubt autozone was able to pull your codes. Follow the information above and let us know what you find. The idle issue should be address as per my first post. Adjust idle via screw on top of throttle body with the car FULLY warmed up and the single green "plug" next to the battery grounded.
