summit racing digital gauges. Anybody have experience w/ them?

Just as the thread title says. Does anybody have experience with them or heard anything about their quality and/or accuracy?

I was looking at this package particularly. Seems like a pretty good deal. http://store.summitracing.com/partde...rt=SUM%2DG2980

Any comments with installation and such

I don't know about the gauges, but we've boughten many things from summit for cars we have in/out of the shop. They seem to do a pretty good job, and nothing was ever backordered. Don't know much about the quality of their stamped products though...

Thanks for the quick replies. I actually just ordered a gauge pod and NGK spark plug wires today. Should be here in a few days. I was surprised the spark plug wires were only a little over $20.

Thanks for your input but I dont think I would really need the peak hold features although they do sound useful. I'm just more concerned about their accuracy and quality.

Here is the picture for those too lazy to click the link

Here is the description:
2 1/16 in. diameter, black face, red LED display, voltmeter, water temperature, and oil pressure gauge, digital gauge panel kit

Our Summit digital three gauge panel comes with everything you need to get precise, easy-to-read measurements. The bright red LED display appears against a black background with quality 2 1/16 in. diameter gauges. Panel includes three gauges--voltmeter, water temperature, and oil pressure--with senders and mounting hardware.

IMO, digital gauges should only be used for values that change slowly, like temps and voltage. Pressures (boost and oil) should be measured with analogue gauges that show you at a glance how fast the value is changing. Digital gauges suck at that.

I have the Nordskogs from summit in my 3rd gen, I like them a lot especially the peak which is very helpful after track sessions. I have FP, oil temp and water temp in the slot below the stock radio. They are so much easier to glance at at speed verses analog. I just wish they had alarms which the SPs do but much more expensive.
