Suggestions on what setup to choose?
Ok, so after getting my streetported rebuild back I know i'm gonna need some larger injectors to run the boost i want to. Which is 14psi on the stock turbo. I have a 3" RB tubo back, FCD and MBC.
But I have a couple setups in mind...either getting the *ECU re-done from www.technosquareinc.com and running 680 or 720cc secondaries. Cost $395
*Rtek7 and 720s or 680s
*SAFC and 720 or 680s.
Theres an add in the classifieds for 680s, pigtails, and FD pump for $150 so thats why they're being considered. I already have a walbro fuel pump.
what I'm curious about is I've heard when your ECU is reprogrammed they still can't control the fuel. So if you guys could please point me in the right direction. I thought about standalone, but I don't have the $$ for that and don't plan to continue my "upgrade path" that far.
Thanks for the help.

When you get your ECU reprogrammed, they set more aggressive timing and fuel curves for the specs that you give them.
But these curves are static because the ECU cannot be reprogrammed on the fly like a standalone. So, no, you cannot make changes to the fuel or timing with the ECU once its been re-programmed unless you send it back to get it done again. So if you change something, you will throw the setup off and may have to get the ECU done again.
HOWEVER, you CAN add the S-AFCII to help control the fuel sytem a bit. The S-AFC alters the MAF signal to trick the ECU into thinking its getting more air that it actually is (or less it you want to take fuel out) and then the ecu will compensate for that difference.
So a combination of the re-programmed ECU and an S-AFC can give you a bit more tuneability than just a reprogrammed ECU at about 1/3 to 1/2 the cost of a standalone.
However.. you can't adjust timing curves with the S-AFC... you will pretty much be stuck with what is in the re-programmed ECU
