suggestions for rotary rebuild videos/reading

hey all,

i'm going to be cracking open my s4 TII engine soon to freshen it up a bit, i'm just wondering who has watched/read some of the rebuild dvd's/books that are out there. it seems that most places that sell a complete kit (atkins, ra etc) have a dvd available.

i am quite mechanically inclined, and the rebuild shouldn't need to be too intensive (motor ran fine and had good compression when pulled), so a fairly basic video that goes over proper procedures and specs would be perfect. i don't need a "this is called a wrench, it's used to turn bolts" kind of video ha ha

the whole process is more going to be a fact-finding mission than anything, since the engine is third-hand, and the previous owner wasn't the one who had rebuilt it last.

any opinions of what you have read or watched would be greatly appreciated! thanks

Excelent question. I'm wondering about his aswell... Read some good things about the MazdaTrix one, and the RA one. Any others that are good? We need someone who has seen 'em all.

Not trying to kiss *** when I say this, but Aaron's youtube video is an extremely good rebuild vid. I haven't seen a better free/low cost rebuild vid online. I haven't seen them all so I am only comparing to what I've watched. If you can't learn something after spending the hour it takes to watch it your hopelessly retarded.

Haha, thanks guys! Once I'm done with the Cosmo, I'm going to make another rebuild video which will be a complete teardown, cleaning, measuring, porting and rebuild, start to finish. It will be ridiculously detailed and likely include some proper humor and nudity. However, it will not be free as production will likely cost me $2000.

For now though, I think the Cosmo rebuild video covers the process fairly well and even includes something that no one else shows: clearancing the damn side seals.
