Up until a few weeks ago the car had around 95psi compression solid on all faces of both rotors. The car started gettin hard to start and easy to flood. I thought injectors were suspect, so i pull them to replace with some spares i have. The screens in them are packed with sugar. Pull the fuel pump and there is a good cup or more of sugar in my tank. Not to mention what is stuck on the pump strainer and inline fuel filter. now to compression test and hope for the best.........40psi all faces front and rear. I pull the motor and take it apart expecting to see some form of baked on sugar coating everything, not the case at all, everything was very clean and unharmed. Since i am rebuilding it and have it apart i decided i should port it, and since the car is not very streetable as it is with a 6puck unsprung clutch. what the hell a bridge port.........and thats where i am now in my project.....in the middle of bridge porting while i wait for my rebuild kit to arrive.
I'm also cleaning, polishing and painting everything i possibly can while i have it apart.
oh here's a few of the engine tore apart on a table and the painted bay

It can do two things one is called "carmelizing" the engine where the heat cause the sugar to basically turn into somewhat molasses and you have to take the engine apart and clean each part of it to get all the sticky substance off, on piston driven engines it can stop pistons from moving and such

Is it possible the clogging caused her to simply run lean?
