subframe defying gravity (and FSM)

i've unbolted the two main subframe support points, and the sublink as well. i've detached it all according to the FSM and a bunch of front-differential-mount-changing writeups. what could be holding it in place?

You need to help it down by prying it with a bar or something.

did you unbolt the 2 differential bolts too?

the diff is bolted to the subframe and they both have to drop (a few inches) as a unit so you can get to the diff mount connecting the two.

Just hit it and pry on it until it falls off, mine was stuck until I pried it just right, then it fell on me

Also, you've made sure EVERYTHING is unhooked from it right?

yeah, it got it all down, prying on it was all that it took. i put a jack under it so it only came down a couple of inches. old mount out, new mount in! i love it!

i do have two questions, though, for anyone who might know...

-the mount i put in didn't have that big rubber block that sticks out in front of the subframe, and it didn't have the metal extension either. i looked at it closely, and it hasn't been cut or broken off, is this just a slightly differenty type of mount?

-while i was under the car and resting, i played with the driveshaft a little...it rotates about a quarter turn and kinda clunks a bit before it stops. there's just a little bit of play. the previous owner had it replaced only about 10k miles ago, so i think the u-joints are fine...

thanks everyone who responded.

Did you get a competition diff mount? If so, that explains why it lacks that rubber block.

no idea...it was off a parting-out on this forum. does that indicate a competition mount? if so, that would be awesome. would that be strong enough on it's own, so that a pinion snubber would not be such a great idea?
