Angry Stupid turbocharger is driving me crazy

I'm trying to remove the turbine housing from a s5 turbo to put on a s4 turbo. everything i've read and been told seems to indicate that once you remove the bolts holding the housing on and get it unstuck it should come right off but mine won't! its very loose and will spin around but it seems to be stuck on the turbine itself. do i need to remove it? if so, how am i supposed to avoid bending fins and essentially demolishing the good turbo when i make the switch? please help

Why are you switching turbine housings if the S5 turbo is good?

Tap it lightly with a hammer - it should "fall off".&nbsp You've got all 6 bolts and the retaining "clips" off, right?

the s4 is good, the s5 is bad. the bolts and metal pieces are off, i'm assuming those are the clips. it will come out about 1/4 of an inch so that it looks like it should come free but it won't. i just found a picture of the cartridge at mazdatrix and i can't figure out what its stuck on. maybe i just need to force it but i'm afraid of damaging the good turbo when i take it apart.

Yes, you need to finesse it.&nbsp The turbine wheel is machined to fit tight to the turbine housing itself - this increase efficiency.&nbsp If the turbine housing is cocked slightly, it jam against the turbine housing upon removal.
