Theres no stupid questions, only stupid people

The ECU (Engine control unit) is what runs your engine. It tells the injectors when to fire, the sparkplugs when to spark, the position of the throttle, etc. It is located under the passenger footwell. Peel back the carpet and remove the metal gaurd on top of it.

I see no reason it would need to be replaced unless you are swapping engines, or upgrading your car, in which case you would buy an aftermarket unit so you could program it how you prefer.

Lol. I am the last guy to ask about ECU's

With the E6k, I don't think you need anything though. I assume it comes with a flying lead harness (might wanna check on that), which allows you to wire it using the stock connectors and hacking up the wire a bit. If not, http://www.k2rd.com sells an adapter for the E6k which converts you stock wiring harness to work with the E6k without having to rewire anything. You will want some way to program it, since the E6k doesnt have a handheld unit. You will need a laptop if you wanna do it in the car, or a PC for outside of the car use.

Now don't quote me on any of that, I still use the stock ECU, and plan to buy a microtech later, so I am not by any means sure of what I said.

You should list your mods. That way some of the more knowledgeble guys will give better anwsers.

Anyways, you may not see any benefit from the E6K. so post your mods.
