Lightbulb stupid question about the turbocharger

can I unbolt the compressor side of the turbo(stock, S5), and make the outlet point down(instead of up)? will I need a new gasket or anything for the turbo? will anything (like a motor mount?) be in the way? and can I do it while its still bolted to the motor?

in case you're wandering why, I'm hoping to do this, because I'll eventually be installing my old school Trust FMIC (with several pieces missing) and this would make the piping a bit shorter, and will leave me much more room for the TID.

thanks very much. and if this has been covered, sorry, but I have no idea what to search for(hence my terrible thread title, lol)

Yes, it can be rotated down, but I'm not sure about clearance issues.

okay cool. umm...does anyone know about the clearance issue? and also, will I screw up any gaskets or anything when I take it apart?

thanks

no, there is no gaskets or anything. unbolt it and fiddle with it all day long and then bolt it right back up with no problem.
