A stupid problem to have (wastegate)

So I am having a stupid problem with my wastegate. The elbow that goes from the compressor housing to the line in particular. It was fine back at stock boost, but ever since I have upped it to 10 psi it will occasionally blow out of the compressor housing Does this happen to everyone that raises their boost? Do they just JBweld that thing back in or is there a real fix for it?

Hasn't happened to me. I don't think I have seen that as a common problem. I would stay away from JB Weld though. Have it TIG welded if anything.

Yeah I am wary of JB weld too, I can just imagine some getting down in the housing and welding my compressor wheel I may just deal with it for now and step up the plans for big turbo.

If it's coming out, yours is broken. The nipple is pressed in there, and shouldn't ever come out with 10 psi of air pressure. It should take hundreds of pounds of pressure and not even flinch.

Don't just "deal with it for now." Blowing the line to the wastegate can mean blowing your engine.

rip it out
get a npt tap and a 90 degree elbow

make a permanent fix

someone at some point (probably tried to replace that vaccum hose) turned that thing and its not tight anymore....

you wont have any boost control if that guy pops off.... so....

step 1... OSH
