Angry stupid oil change guy

on the 5th and 6th ports.i can move them back and forth freely,is there suposed to be like a spring like return,?or can you just move them side to side?it seems like they would have like a spring action.only reason i even started messing with them was because the dude at valvoline oil change took out my airfilter, and when he put it back he positioned the intake hose where it was totally obstructing the port towards the front of the car! so someone please clear this up for me.im frantic about keeping my car tip top

I dont understand what you are talking about? The auxillary port (5th and 6th port) actuators are run by silinoilds on the LIM. You should be able to push the rod down (down on S4 and up on S5 models) to move the ports open. If they do not return to closed, than the actuators are bad.

The intake hose doenst have anything to do with it, and you can't obstruct the ports with it..so I dont think you are talking about the auxillary ports. Can you describe in more detail what this is, or get a pic?

Put down the tools, get some sleep, and work on the car tomorrow.

Free advise, You will find in your reading here that most of us do not take our cars to the dealer for the simplest of repairs.

SO, with that said, the last guy I would let touch my rotaries is the valvoline guy. Hell Valvoline has one key phrase in the name our cars do not - VALVE. Change your own oil and filters.

its kind of hard for a place like that to screw up an oil change.

well,i had the oil change cause i desperately needed an oil changeand it was raining and i have no garage, the tube between the air intake and then manifold was put back on sideways though.as for the 5th and 6th ports,i am retarded on that issue, and was mistaking them for something else.but now that i know where they really are,i found they work fine with the grease test....still learning,im under the hood or doing something to it every day.toughest thing so far was replacing the sunroof.
