Stupid idea?

Well i used to be really into boxer engines/STis prior to becoming a rotary fan. And i remember reading about the 22B STis having a system fitted where by pressing a button is sprayed water directly onto the intercooler. I have an 89/90 series 5 turbo with the headlight washing thingys, headlights washers are useless to me, so i changed the way the hoses sit so that it now sprays water straight onto the radiator(haven't got my front mount in yet), seems to work but haven't got any real way of measuring its effectiveness.

Will post pics if needed.

yea, great idea, but re-mount them so that they could spray on a FMIC, and hook it up so that when you go WOT they just start spraying the intercooler. You could so throw some ice cubes into a resovior too..... yea.....

DarkKnightFC has a Evo Intercooler V-Mounted in his FC with the Intercooler Sprayer Set-Up like yours. He seems to like it.

It's a good idea and proven to be very effective, but your set-up will be doing very little because you're using the wrong type of nozzle. IC sprays work on evaporation, and you need to spray the water in a very fine mist for that to happen. Metal spray nozzles designed to do just that are not hard to find or expensive.

We could also use the cold start injector system for something like that as well.
