T2 ECU Sub Harness?
T2 ECU Sub Harness?
The JDM Engine I have didn't come w/ an ECU. The connector on the engine harness, don't look like they will connect to an ECU. Is the ECU harness a subharness that connects to the Engine Harness?
So, the ECU is on the passenger side and I need the Emmisions harness(which connects the ECU to the Engine harness)? And thus I need an ECU, or is that called an emmision cpu? If I use an N/A harness, what do I need to splice? I was going to take the ECU and get it tuned to deal w/ the lack of emmisions...and if I am pulling the emmisions off of the car, do I need to splice the wires on the N/A harness(Emmisins Harness)? Oh yea, thanks for the replies. -Blake
1. The JDM righthand drive harness does not have the wiper wires.
2. If it's a series five harness then it won't mate with the connectors in the series four car.
3. You can use a n/a series four harness on a turbo engine with small changes to the harness.
4. You need to someday look at the wiring schematics for your car. You'll notice that the Engine harnessthe( E harness) runs along the left side of the car and has things like the CAS plug on it. The harness that connects to the fuel injectors etc is called the EM harness.
5. So when you look at a wiring schematic you'll see symbols like *E* next to a wire indicating the Engine harness and you'll see symbols like *EM* indicating that wire is in the Emissions harness. The wipers are in the EM harness on a USA car. They are NOT in the EM harness for a JDM harness. I'd recommend just using your old non turbo harness instead of the JDM EM harness. I'm not saying the JDM harness cannot be used. I'm just suggesting it's a lot less work/time involved.
6. If you have a series five engine and are putting it in a series four car, your going to have problems with the OMP and TPS due to series five OMP being electrical and the series five TPS being a two plunger type TPS.
7. And a series five ECU will not mate with the connectors in a series four car. You can MAKE the wiring match by cutting wires and hard wiring the proper wires to some series five ECU plugs etc. You just look at the series five and series four wiring diagrams and make the right choices. That takes TIME as some small skills.
