You are buying a car that you must learn to work with.
Besides... We aren't talking about engine internals here. Any dumb mechanic should know how to do tranny work. Then engine is different, that doesn't make the whole car an alien.
I suggest you do lots and lots of research. Read everything in the FAQ and Archives and then PM me for the parts to do a N/A 5-speed swap.

It'ts not supid, it just isnt a good idea. It would be stupid if you knew better and did it anyway. I take it you are fairly new to this site, as I am, and there are many topics covered. The search function is very helpful, and has helped me many times. Welcome to the rx7 world.

My jdm engine had an auto tranny on it. I didn't take the tranny though, because who the hell wants a auto turbo fc? Unless the thread starter does and I could of sold it to him for $10. But yea, just get a 5spd and make things easier on yourself. The car is confusing, difficult, expensive, and time consuming enough engine-wise, dont make an automatic tranny add to it. Set high expectations and you will get there.

Do a 60K tune-up and then come back and tell us what kind of money you have for mods. There is tons of preventive maintenance you have to do before you can mod ANY car.
Stop asking for spoon feed info. We are all guilty of it but these are basic things that have been covered a million times. Search and read the FAQ and Archive. Believe it or not... It has been covered.

Best bet would be to get a "front clip" from an automatic Turbo II which would have the ECU.

Really the most important thing to me right Mod wise is the exaust and what exactly to buy for it. My uncle is a great mechanic and will do the Tune up for me. And the other stuff I have found on the Archives. I just need someone to give me a link or and example for an exaust for a 1986-1988 n/a

well for 700 dollars you can get a RB header/corksport straightpipe. I have a dynamax catback system and you should be able to get an intake also for that much, but thats pushing it if you only have 700. Then again rx7's are expensive no matter what you do!! goodluck and learn how to fix these things yourself. I live in Vermont and other than the mazda dealership, no one works on these cars. Peace, welcome to the rx7 world!!

header
http://corksport.com/store/category/...rx-intake.html
midpipe
http://www.racepages.com/brands/buy....=rx7&year=1991
and the one I have is the catback system at 2.5", the picture is totally different then the real thing also!!
then just get the adapter for the airfilter and a k&n filter with a C.A.I. system
http://www.mariahmotorsports.com/ this is what I have for a C.A.I.
that apex(I think thats the single outlet) catback system is not bad, its gonna be loud kinda like mine!! With my setup, it was a very noticable gain in horsepower.

well have you been under your car yet, If you have the original exhaust then you will have 4 cats total, anyway that apex is only a CATBACK system which means just the pipes and muffler after the main catalyic converter. You can run the apex system but its not really gonna do much for you being the other cats cut lots of power. You will eventually have to replace the header/midpipe. so you myswell do it all at once.

One more thing. I havent checked yet but if I dont have enough money for all this which order should I purchase this stuff If I still wanna drive my car while upgrading it. Or should I just wait until I can buy it all.

I would start with the exhaust, then go from there. Exhaust and air intake will gave you the most horses for the money for a N/A. But before replacing the exhaust make sure your ports are working fine!!

You know, you've made a few post in the last couple of days. I'm sure any question you have asked has been asked 7657856754 times. So instead of being like everyone else and telling you to search, you can ask me. Send me some of your questions through PM and I'll do my best to get them answered.
