stupid clutch problem anyone?
stupid clutch problem anyone?
this is gonna sound retarded, but after swapping the engine, but clutch is limp. u press it and it just stays down. after you bop me on the head one time, let me know what it is i need to do to get it back to normal. thanks in advance
yeah you need to bleed the clutch hydraulic system. Its better if theres 2 of you doing the job but i did it myself. First you get a hose that fits the bleed screw (about 2 ft or longer) that has a bottle on the end. This way when you bleed it id doesnt spill on the car (not nice). Lets say there are 2 of you (a GF will be usefull on this one). You loosen the bleed screw and have your GF press the clutch 3 times then have her hold it down still while you tighten the bleed screw. Now you should have a good pressure. If its still feel spongy just to the same thing one more time. GOOD LUCK....
Make sure before attempting this that you have a good amount of brake fluid in the reservoir and have some more for replacing the lost fluid.

do you mean pump it 3 times? becuase i thought that you werent supposed to let off the cluth when the skrew was loose?
what do ya think. my methodwas, slowly start pushing in clutch than looses skrew and before it hit the bottem, tighten it? is that how its done? this might be my clutch problem

no, here what i do...pump pedal like 5 times, hold it to floor, *while holding* loosen slave cyl air bleed til some fluid comes out and tighten...repeat until clutch is nice n stiff and no more air comes out when you loosen...DON'T BRING THE PEDAL BACK UP WITH THE AIR BLEED OPEN! it'll suck air back in!!
