Angry Stuck oil filler cap!

Well, i searched a lilttle and it didnt seem like anyone has talked about this...

I dont know what has happened but my oil filler cap is stuck on way tighter than i can try to turn it...

so far, tried by hand, with one of those rubber grip things to open jars, with a small strap wrench, and with a large strap wrench.

my next course of action might be to try and drive some bolts thru a peice of metal to make a makeshift socket to put over the cap to try and turn it

does anyone have any other ideas or has this ever happened to you?

also, i only remember tightening it hand tight when i put it on last, it was warmer then, but even with the engine warm it doesnt seem to make a difference

i wouldnt go putting to much pressure on it,if im correct its aluminum and if it breaks it could f^ck up part of your block where it connects

Hit it with a hammer, or try tightening it first some more...

I'm thinking the Oring is no longer there and the cap is jamed. It's a steel tube and is pressed in to the case. They do come out easy ,but getting one from a junk yard will never have the tight fit to keep it in Go OEM. Steve Gambone X Mazda dealer tech and owner 76 RX4 twin turbo/2nd gen suspension

I have the same trouble, but the top of my filler neck is rusted from condensation, use a pipewrench, it'll give you an excuse to get one of those nice aluminum caps they sell on ebay......
