Strut Help Please

I got new struts and got one off today and was getting things to put on the other strut and realized i have no spring holder for the bottom of the strut. I have Gabriel G-Force Struts. What can i do or where can i get plates to put on to hold the spring up?

I'm confused for what you are talking about, but I think you are describing a spring compressor. You can rent one at a tool rental store or most auto parts stores. Put one on each side of the spring, tighten until slack, remove the upper strut mount, put spring on new strut, install upper strut mount, release spring.

the old strut lower plate i ***BELIEVE*** can be removed and put on the new strut. you just knock it up (toward the top of the strut) with a hammer

Back when I replaced the struts on my first car ('91 240sx) the Konis that I got didn't have the seat either, I ended up hammering off the stock seats and hammering them onto my new struts.

(and they may appear to be welded on, but with enough careful force they came off. I'm not sure how they are on stock '7 struts)
