street porting n/a's
street porting n/a's
hiya.
i have to rebuild my 13b. i have water leaking into the rotor housing. ill probably end up looking for a decent used one. so i was thinking,.. why not get a nice street port on it while its out, right?
well,.. i have a couple of questions. and no, im not expecting 300 hp or any of that crap. i understand its a n/a engine, and dont expect to be able to hit the speed of light any time soon.
what type of spark plugs have to be used?
if using a series 4 13b, is it better to look for series5 rotors?
use 91 octane and up only?
anything else i should look out for when running with a street port?
im not too big on rotor engine tricks, so any comments welcome.
except from node.
i hate you.

Series 5 could get you more horsepower with a higher compression ratio. Possibly bigger fuel injectors and fuel pump to go along with the more air you'd be taking in. I'd guess something around stock TII fuel system (pump and injectors or 2 of the injectors).
Also look into some of the other N/A mods, some freebies like throttle body mod and possibly removing/wiring open the 6th ports but they work so you might not want to mess with them.
Some people like them working normally, some like them removed, some like them wired open. Depends on who you ask
I'd guess stock plugs (well what you would use to replace stock plugs) would work.
NGK 9 and 10 and 11 heat level or something like that, can't remember off the top of my head. I'll search for it....oh wait, except for node, let me know if i should just edit and delete this info
*edit*
Oh my name is Ben (Benjamin) also
Just thought you'd like to know since you picked me outta nowhere

I'm looking to get my motor ported also when I go for my rebuild. Dave at KD Rotary said that w/a fairly...ahem....healthy port w/turbo rotor housings.....he said that it will put out about 200hp.
You should talk o hypntyz about this he is wrapping up and install for me now... http://hypntyz.rx7life.com
